28 facts you might not know about the porn industry

Do you hear? This is the hum of the public, alarmed by the raised topic. Don’t worry – everyone is watching porn. Researchers at the University of Montreal in Canada wanted to conduct a study on the effects of pornography on relationships, but could not find a control group of 26 people who did not watch porn.

Below is a list of 28 facts that should fully reveal the inside story of the porn industry for you. But if you want to hear that only perverts are involved in pornography, we will disappoint you. More and more people are being drawn into the business model of the porn industry, providing jobs for tens of thousands of people around the world. And it began thousands of years ago – on the territory of feudal Japan and ancient Greece. Without getting that far into history, we’ll start with the UK.

HISTORY

  1. Queen Victoria enacts strict laws regarding the conduct of men and women, with no nudity. However, the law did not apply to photographs. Cards with naked women flooded the market and Europe, which until then knew only pornographic novels.
  2. The beginning of the 20th century was the heyday of the era of silent cinema, and underground porn studios were created in Europe. They are dealt with by the mafia, which soon transports the idea overseas – to America. Pornography is not particularly popular – puritanical mores will prevail in society until the middle of the century, until the sexual revolution begins.
  3. The first countries to lift the ban on pornography (attention!) Were the Scandinavians – Denmark (1969) and Sweden (1971).
  4. The first porn film to be widely released in the United States was the 1970 pseudo-documentary Sexual Freedom in Denmark.
  5. In the 1950s, Playboy and Hustler set the stage for the porn industry, but the turning point was the release of Deep Throat, which grossed $ 30 million. Thanks to him, the industry was able to emerge from the shadows, porn cinemas and porno video rentals appeared.
  6. The popularity of the genre could dictate terms: the fact that the porn business chose VHS to distribute allowed the format to stay afloat while Betamax disappeared.
  7. In 1999, the shares of the “icon” of the world porn industry – Private Media Group, began to be quoted on the Nasdaq exchange.

The porn business was growing at a staggering pace, although it remained essentially banned. In the US, porn is legalized only in Los Angeles and New Hampshire. Sometimes it seems like everyone else is talking about porn, but how big is the industry really?

BUSINESS

  1. From 3 to 4 thousand dollars are spent every second to buy porn: videos, subscriptions to paid channels, webchats, photos, et cetera.
  2. Google for “porn” returns 1,900,000,000 results.

  7. The average male pay per video is $ 500; girls have separate and more generous price lists.

In fact, the porn business doesn’t spare guys. It’s hard for a man to become a porn actor, they get less, they constantly take Viagra to keep themselves in good shape on the set. It’s hard to find positive reviews from porn actors about the filming process. For them, this is the same work as the rest – hard work, requiring preparation and certain skills. Let’s talk a little about the heroes of the porn industry.
